About Us

Four Seasons Property Management Team

John C. Welch, Jr. began his real estate career buying and selling homes for CBS Realty in February of 1970. When the owner of the company, who had been John’s good friend and mentor passed away, John became intrigued with the idea of his own small business. On June 1, 1984 he opened Four Seasons Property Management, Inc. as a one man shop while still transitioning from CBS.

At that time, Four Seasons Property Management, Inc. managed 11 properties and John worked out of a small one room office. John liked the areas off Central Avenue because he believed his office should be located centrally in the city and accessible by all types of transportation including city buses.

In 2000, now with a staff of two office assistants and a maintenance supervisor, Four Seasons Property Management, Inc. bought and renovated an office space at it's current location of 2334 The Plaza, also located in Plaza Midwood. Around that same time, as the company began to expand rapidly, John hired Susan J. Amick as a second licensed real estate agent. Susan, who is also John’s daughter, grew up around the business and made property management her career.

In 2021, Susan officially purchased Four Seasons Property Management, Inc. from John and became President along with maintaining her Property Management duties. John then fully retired to enjoy more time on the coast with his wife. Sadly, on July 22, 2024 John peacefully passed away surrounded by his family. He is greatly missed and we are all grateful for the opportunities he provided. His spirit lives on in our company and in day-to-day decision making.

While keeping John’s vision and core practices in place, Susan and her staff updated branding, added two new Property Managers, Victoria (Tori) C. Amick (Susan’s daughter) and Valerie A. Williams, and also renovated the office space. Additionally, Four Seasons Property Management, Inc. recently added the position of Maintenance Field Supervisor, led by Michael G.J. Munz that coordinates in-house maintenance.

Today, over 40 years later, Four Seasons Property Management, Inc. has 9 full-time employees and manages approximately 650 properties for over 250 owners throughout Mecklenburg, Gaston, Union, Iredell, and Cabarrus counties.

As John had taught our staff, Four Seasons Property Management, Inc. prides itself on providing personal service while remaining intentionally sized so we never lose touch with our owners or residents. Personally answering all phone calls, staff being knowledgeable of the entire company portfolio, and always “doing the right thing” even if it costs the company money are some of the ways we try to adhere to this philosophy.
